Made for TriJam 150 (Theme: Grouping)

Controls:

  • L-Click and drag to create a line

How To Play:

Draw a polygon that encapsulates as many gems of the same color/shape as you can. The more the better! You get a small multiplier based on how many of the same color/shape you can encapsulate without getting any gems of a different color/shape.

Scoring:

  • 50 points per gem of the gem type with the HIGHEST encapsulated count
  • (HIGHEST encapsulated count/2)x multiplier IF there isn't a mixture in gem types

There's a score, but there is no opposing force (time limit, lose condition, etc.) Go on forever, it's really just a laid back kind of game.


Game created using Unity.

Tweens were made using Demigiant's Tweening library DoTween. I would recommend it!

Gem shapes were created in Blender using a primative Torus with some small edits (changed major/minor segments at creation and added some edges on some)

Popping sounds were recorded by me!

The sad excuse for music was made using Bosca Ceoil. I need to work on making music a bit. I'm not so happy with the way this one turned out.

Game idea was spitballed but was mainly @zeejfps's idea

Good game, but I would change some things. I wouldn't allow you to pop the entire stage at once, that does seem a bit strange from a design decision. The popping is satisfying and I like that one colour has a shape attached to it, really nice from an accessibility perspective.

You CAN pop them all, but you get less points. Not that points are hard to come by in a game that never ends ๐Ÿ˜‹

You'll only get points for the color/shape that has the most pieces within what was selected. The remaining pieces' points are just gone forever.

This is nice! The popping is very satisfying. Maybe some extra sounds or effects when you make bigger groups and get bonus points?

Yeah! I should have had the multiplier spawn floating text! ๐Ÿค” I might have to continue this at some point and implement a bunch of things that were recommended and make it more game-like by adding a game loop other than infinite play.

Enjoyed it a lot ^^ having a restriction on what shape or bonus if you make a less complicated shape would be nice to
